The week before any big event can be fun, exciting, nerve racking, and a whole list of emotions.  What I am talking about is that next week is belt testing.  So in preparation to belt test, here are my top tips to make sure that you have a successful one:

1.  Arrive early, and in your full gi.  I know this is an easy one, but lets be extra carful to not overlook the small stuff.

2.  Act with confidence.  You are testing because I know you can do it.  Really this is about you demonstrating to me that you are ready for your next rank.  So impress me.

3.  If you make a mistake fix it.

4.  Kiai.  Loud.  Technical ability is very important, but I really want to see you display your karate spirit.  Intensity, focus, and Zanshin are what really matter.

Also, here is a video that we did yesterday going over some of the things that will be on your test next week.
